Reedy River String Band plays foot-stompin’ music in three-part harmony! Hailing from Greenville, South Carolina, the band brings a fresh take on Appalachian roots music infused with elements of rock n’ roll and jam band music. Since forming in November, 2022, Reedy River String Band has played extensively throughout Upstate South Carolina and across the Southeast. The band has been met with warm receptions at many festivals, including the Albino Skunk festival, Fall for Greenville, State Line Music Festival, and Charleston Bluegrass Festival. Rush Morgan plays guitar; Mark Dye is on upright bass; and multi-instrumentalist Sterling Waite rotates between fiddle, mandolin, claw-hammer banjo, and harmonica. With influences rooted in bluegrass, the band resides in the “newgrass” or indie bluegrass space. Reedy River String Band’s debut self-titled EP includes six original songs telling stories of love, loss, adventure, and comradery and features each of the three members as lead singers. Their EP has been featured on several radio stations including WNCW 88.7, which hosted the band for a live performance.
